How To Do Money Together is an free engaging 45-minute experience that helps couples reduce financial conflict, communicate more clearly, and understand the deeper forces that shape their money dynamics. This is not a technical financial workshop. It’s  a human one. The Boneparths draw from their book, Money Together, and from years of lived experience as a married couple, business partners, and parents raising two daughters while juggling careers, caregiving, and the financial pressures facing modern families.

This session is an interactive walk through the five pillars of the book to help couples reframe how they think about money with their partner: Beginnings, Mistakes, Contribution, Power, and Risk. The evening ends with practical tips and “do’s and don’ts” on communicating about money. 

The Boneparths built this talk because even as a wealth advisor and a corporate lawyer, they found certain money conversations incredibly hard to have. During the early parenting years and through the pandemic, their own power dynamics shifted faster than they could keep up with. What they went through mirrored what Doug was seeing with clients. Many couples were overwhelmed by invisible labor, communication breakdowns, financial shame, and unequal expectations. Most available resources were either too clinical or too surface level. They created this session to help couples understand what is really happening underneath their money stress and to give them tools that support empathy, fairness, and teamwork at home.
