Julia Child (1912-2004) was an American cook, author and television personality who introduced French cuisine and cooking techniques to America. She was in the vanguard of “foodies” who, by changing America’s taste, helped create modern American culture. Her most famous works are the 1961 cookbook, Mastering the Art of French Cooking and her first television series, The French Chef. Sponsored by Union County Division on Aging.
