Tournament Description

The Spring Pickleball Classic 2025 is open to all JCC members and the broader community! Join us for the first-ever tournament at our newly upgraded Nathanson Gymnasium, now featuring official pickleball lines.

Divisions & Format

Players will be divided into two skill levels:

• PowerBall (Advanced)
• Intermediate: Players with less than a 3.6 DUPR rating or equivalent experience (maximum combined team rating: 7.2)

Competition Types

• Doubles: 2 players per side
• Free Agent Face-off: An individual competition where players team up against rotating partners. Each participant is assigned different partners each round, competing in a full round robin of three consecutive games. Only the top players from each skill level will earn the chance to compete in this exclusive challenge. Winners are determined by total points scored! 

Guaranteed Games: Doubles players get at least two games, Free Agent Faceoff players get at least three games.

You may register your interest in either competition or both.

Event Details

• Player Cap: Max 32 players accepted, (16 at each skill level); a waitlist will be maintained
• Selection Process: Final entries will be determined by the Pickleball Committee. Waitlisted players will be refunded if no spot becomes available
• DUPR Registration Required: All players must have a DUPR registration. DUPR ratings or self-assessments here are welcomed. Scores will be submitted to DUPR post-tournament

Scoring & Gameplay Rules

• Rally Scoring: will be used for all games
• Winning Margins:
• All games (except finals): First to 11, win by 1
• Doubles Finals: First to 15, win by 1
• Foot Faults:
• Courts 1-4: Serving foot may touch the line
• Championship Court (Court 0): Strict foot fault enforcement
• Timeouts: One 30-second timeout per game; injury timeouts do not permit server switching
• Officiating: Tournament officials’ rulings are final. JCC etiquette rules apply
