Few composers have inspired as deeply controversial reactions as Puccini. For many, Puccini’s operas remain the most beloved and popular. For others, especially many music critics of his time, Puccini was vehemently dismissed. Several of his operas remain the most performed and attended of all – including La Boheme, Tosca, Madame Butterfly and Turandot.
