Mel Brooks: It’s Good to Be the King of Comedy with Entertainment Historian John Kenrick
Wednesday, November 1, 2023
11:15 am - 12:15 pm
1391 Martine Avenue
Scotch Plains, NJ
This Brooklyn native entertained fellow soldiers during World War II, then became a Catskills “tummler” before writing for TV’s Your Show of Shows and Get Smart. The Academy Award-winning success of his first film, The Producers, led to such comedy classics as Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein before he enjoyed fresh triumph on Broadway. John pulls back the curtain on the life and career of a comic legend who is still working at age 96. Sponsored by the Van Winkle Foundation and Michelle Fiddler in honor of her dad Eric Fiddler.
