What is modern art? How and why did it start? Is it complicated? We will discuss these questions as we’re introduced to the evolution of Modern Art. The talk will explore the connections to outside factors like the Industrial Revolution, discoveries in science and the changing cultures. We will focus on Modern Art from its beginning in the 1880s to the early 20th century including Picasso, Matisse and Mondrian. Sponsored by the Van Winkle Foundation.
