Singer, songwriter, guitarist Laura Wetzler tours in over 100 concerts each year. In 2020 Laura wrote, directed, produced and scored her first film, What Happened at the Veterans Home? a fictional story that has won over 14 international awards, including Best Humanitarian Film in Prague, Best Screenplay in Paris, Philadelphia and Palm Springs and Honorable Mention at Cannes World Film Festival. We will begin the day with a pre-film concert with Laura followed by lunch with Israeli
guests. Afterwards, Laura will join us for a special screening of the 50-minute film here at the JCC, and answer questions about the process of creating her critically acclaimed story of a veteran, her daughter and a caretaker fighting for justice for seniors.
