Recent and controversial historical research by Dr. Andrew Porwancher has greatly expanded our understanding of Caribbean-born Hamilton’s early life and possible Jewish parentage. Seen in this light, Hamilton’s lifelong battle against religious prejudice, his numerous favorable statements about the Jews and his advocacy for Jewish citizens in court takes on new significance. Dr. Adler will share and evaluate Porwancher’s arguments in his book on one of our most important Founding Fathers.
