Join us for this interesting presentation which will include a discussion of lighthouse history, structure and characteristics. Topics include keepers, governance, purpose and how weather affects lighthouses. Historical facts about New Jersey beacons and keepers will be highlighted (some were women). The mission of The New Jersey Lighthouse Society is to restore and preserve American lighthouses, to educate the public about the historical link to maritime past and to research the history of lighthouses.
