Exciting News!

We are partnering with Temple Emanu-El in Westfield on behalf of the Mandy Reichman Feeding program which provides food and support to less fortunate, needy families in Union County. The Mandy Reichman Feeding program, also known as Bagged with Love, was founded in in memory of Mandy Reichman (daughter of long-time Temple Emanu-El preschool teacher Meryl Reichman) who was passionate about feeding those in need. Prior to COVID, this program ran every Tuesday afternoon for close to 20 years!  Families met at Temple Emanu-El to make and bag sandwiches and other snacks for the homeless.  Unfortunately the program had to stop during COVID, but we are joining forces to resurrect this important and impactful program.

• Help us pack 100 emergency food bags to Jewish Family Services of Central NJ each month!
• Last year, Bridges distributed 120,000 meals. Make sandwiches and put them together in a brown paper bag with fruit, snacks and drink. Don’t forget to decorate the bag! Having brightly colored creatively designed bags is wonderful.

There are many ways to get involved.

• Come in person to bag the food
• Shop for the needed items for the food bags.  Items needed are:
  • Cheerios Cereal - 12 oz. General Mills
  • Ritz Original Crackers - 13.7 oz.
  • Skippy Creamy Peanut Butter - 16.3 oz.
  • Smucker's Concord Grape Jelly - 18 oz.
  • Bumble Bee Solid White Albacore Tuna in Water - 5 oz. Can
  • Barilla Blue Box Penne Pasta - 16 oz. Box
  • Barilla Traditional Sauce - 24 oz. Jar
  • Uncle Ben's Original Long Grain White Rice - 1lb. Box
  • Heinz Premium Vegetarian Beans in Rich Tomato with (NO MEAT) 16 oz. Can
  • Mott's Applesauce - 24 oz. Jar
  • Progresso Traditional Chicken Soup - 19 oz. Can
  • Del Monte Quality Mixed Vegetables - 14 oz. Can
  • Fruit cups (single serving sizes)
  • Nutri-Grain type bar (soft foods are best)
  • Nuts, trail mix, Goldfish, or pretzels (individual bags)
  • 8oz Bottles of water 
• Help spread the word or launch a collection (e.g., see items above)
• Volunteer to drive the bags over to Jewish Family Services or Bridges Outreach with your family
• Make a donation to help subsidize the program
