In 1957 Judith Sylvia Cohen asked her art history professor why there were no women artists in art history textbooks. She was told that women had not contributed anything worthwhile to art history. She changed her name to Judy Chicago to protest the patriarchal naming of women and set out to discover whether what the professor had said was true. Her resulting creation, The Dinner Party would change the direction of late 20th century art completely. Come learn her astonishing story. Sponsored by the Van Winkle Foundation.
