Virtual Jewish Film Festival - Neighbors
Thursday, October 14, 2021
Virtual Event
Beginning Thursday, October 14
125 minutes, Kurdish with English subtitles
This film centers on a Kurdish child living in a village on the Turkish-Syrian border in the early 1980s. The little boy and his uncle act as the Sabbath goy’im for their Jewish next door neighbors. The film was inspired by the director’s personal experiences. His bittersweet memories connect the Syrian tragedy to the present.
