In this talk, Elaine Leeder, Dean Emeritus of the School of Social Sciences at Sonoma State University, will discuss the dynamics of American Jewish families, looking first at Jewish families during immigration and then moving into contemporary Jewish families. She will discuss the myth of the Jewish mother, the Jewish American Princess as misogynistic and anti-Semitic rhetoric, the conflict that Jewish men have between being a mensch and a hunk as well as the future of the American Jewish family.
