A hybrid program that provides both a great travel camp experience and valuable hands-on leadership instruction.
L.I.T.s alternate their weeks of camp between being a staff-intern (specific group or specialty area) and as a travel camper – including one extended (four night/five day) trip per four-week session.
Sample of day trips:
The Beach
A Broadway show
Dave & Busters
Dorney Park
Paintball
Paddleboaring
Water and adventure parks
Rollerskating
During day-trip travel weeks, there is always one late night.
Extended overnight trips: (five days/four nights); summer 2026 overnight trips include Cape Cod and Myrtle Beach!
During staff internships, L.I.T.s learn how to work independently and as part of their leadership group and focus on topics including:
Communication
Trust
Creative Thinking
Working Collaboratively
Time Management
Organization Skills
L.I.T.s also engage in leadership sessions
L.I.T.s who successfully complete at least one 4-week session of the program are given priority to work at Camp Yachad the following summer as a Counselor In Training (C.I.T.)
All this PLUS
Transportation, lunch (when on an overnight trip and on staff internship weeks) and snacks are all included for L.I.T.s!
L.I.T. campers start their day at 9:00 a.m. and are typically back for 4:00 p.m. dismissal.
