The ARC Lifeguard Training Course teaches candidates the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatics emergencies including drowning and injuries. This training includes lifeguard certification, first aid training and professional rescuer CPR certification.
NOTES: Students must be at least 15 years old before the last scheduled training class and must be able to pass the following pretest skills:
Successful completion of this course requires participation in all skill practice. The practice sessions will require some strenuous physical activity. Students are encouraged to check with their healthcare professional before participating in the course. If a medical condition or disability exists, that might prevent participation in the activities. Candidates must pass emergency skill scenarios, a written test and attend all scheduled class dates.

To enroll in this course, you must be a current lifeguard with a valid American Red Cross lifeguard certification and complete the lifeguard training pretest swimming skills. (You cannot take this course if your lifeguard certification is expired for more than 30 days.) Students must come with pocket mask, suits and copy of current certification. Be prepared to demonstrate all skills and pass written exam. Please bring CPR mask. Includes CPR/AED/FA/LGT.

Prerequisites: Participants must be 16 years old by the end of training. In addition, candidates must pass a pre-course evaluation consisting of demonstrating the following swimming strokes: front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke and butterfly with a minimum American Red Cross Level 4 skill performance. The purpose of the WSI course is to equip candidates with the skills and knowledge needed to teach swim lessons for infants through adults. Candidates must attend all sessions, successfully complete all skills and practice teaching assignments and attain a minimum grade of 80% on the written exam to pass the class. Maximum number of students per course: 8. 7 hours of online work also required.
