An adult Staff Unit Director oversees staff and campers. Experienced Senior Counselors (high school graduates or older) supervise each group. Junior Counselors (rising 11th and 12 graders) and Counselors in Training/CITs (rising 10th graders) support each group.
TEKI campers can split their time between TEKI, traditional camp or travel camp.
Camp Yachad is available to JCC members! For more information about membership, click here.
TEKI (which stands for Technology Education-Knowledge-Instruction) was founded by Howard Weinrib, an educational technology specialist with over 20 years in public education. The program is based on his years of experience in dealing with K-12 students, families and the experiences shared over the years. His philosophy involves building self-confidence and leadership qualities, while integrating 21st century technology into learning. For almost a decade, Howard has run a technology summer program that he launched in Montclair, NJ. In providing a fun and creative environment for children grades 2-8, TEKI focuses on science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. Our certified teachers engage campers through state-of-the-art technology and hands-on instruction.
