Special Events for Teens

Ski-Snowboarding Excursions
24209 Sunday, March 2, 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

We’re heading to the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania for a fun-filled day of skiing and snowboarding! These excursions are open to teens in Grades 6– 12.
Fees: Various ticket/equipment/lesson packages available—contact the Youth & Teen Services Director for more details.

PSAT/SAT Preparatory Classes

The JCC Teen Department offers two different SAT prep courses. These courses will help you achieve success on these vital tests! Courses are offered beginning in late August and continuing throughout the fall.

Educational Services Center (ESC) SAT/PSAT Classes
JCC members registering for ESC SAT and PSAT classes receive a 10% tuition discount from ESC. To register and for fee and course date information, call 1-800-762-test. The tuition cost also includes books.

Kaplan Test Prep SAT/PSAT Classes
JCC members registering for Kaplan SAT and PSAT classes receive a 10% tuition discount from Kaplan. To register and for fee and course date information, call 1-800-KAP-TEST. The tuition cost also includes books.

Teen Summer Programs

JCC Maccabi Games ®
Join over 6,500 Jewish Teens from around the world for this week-long Olympic-style sports event! The JCC of Central NJ is now recruiting members for our JCC Maccabi Games delegation for summer 2008. We will be putting together teams to compete in a number of different sports.The JCC Maccabi Games are open to Jewish teens ages 13 – 16. JCC Junior Maccabi Games
Jewish athletes ages 10 – 12: This is your chance to enjoy the JCC Maccabi Games experience! Compete against JCC delegations from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland. We will be putting together sports teams in a number of different sports.

JCC Maccabi ArtsFest ®
Do you dance, sing, act, play an instrument, or enjoy some other creative pursuit? Join hundreds of creative Jewish teens from around the country for this week-long arts extravaganza, and a chance to hone your craft with a master artist! For more information, please contact Dana Brenner at ext. 203.

Camp Yachad Counselor/CIT Program
For teens entering Grades 10 – 12 in Fall 2008
Spend the summer outdoors working with children, and experience the close-knit camp community at the JCC. Staff training is a required part of participation in this program. All CITs must be 15 or entering 10th grade. Junior Counselors must be 16 or older. Call the Camp office at 908-889-8800 ext. 253 for applications or click here. Applications are also available at the Camp Office. Don’t wait—interviews and hiring begin in November.

JCC Israel Teen Travel Scholarships
For teens entering Grades 9 – 12
Through the newly established Teen Jewish Continuity Endowment Fund, the JCC provides scholarships for high school students to participate in teen trips to Israel. Applicants must be members of the JCC of Central New Jersey by December 31, 2007. Application forms are available in the Director of Family Services’ Office.
