The JCC offers three separate competitive swim team options:
The Barracudas swim team is for our accomplished swimmers ages 6-18 years. All swimmers ages 9+ must be familiar with all four competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly). Swimmers ages 8 and younger must legally swim at least two of the competitive strokes. This will be the Barracudas’ 17th season competing in the New Jersey JCC-YMHA Swim League. Swim meets begin in early November and run through the State Championships in March. Dual meets are always held on Sunday afternoons. A stroke evaluation is required for swimmers new to the program. Additional new swimmers will not be able to join the Barracudas team after the maximum number of swimmers is reached in an age group.

Cost includes swim cap, team t-shirt and all league and meet registration fees.
This swim team program is avaliable for younger swimmers ages 5 – 8 who are able to swim at least 15 yards on both their front and backs and is designed to introduce these young swimmers to competitive these young swimmers to competitive swimming. A stroke evaluation for new swimmers is recommended.
The Intra-Cuda intramural swim team program is for those swimmers ages 8+ who would like to improve their strokes and fitness but do not desire the level of commitment our Barracudas swim team requires. Swimmers must be able to swim at least 50 yards freestyle with rotary breathing. A stroke evaluation is not required.
