Inspired by her modern orthodox childhood, time spent in Israel and her secular/interfaith marriage, Sharon presents KOL ISHA, a bold, original song journey merging Jewish imagery, myth and melodies with a modern, feminist perspective. She blends folk/blues with traditional melodies, middle-eastern rhythms and biblical texts. Sharon was an Emerging Artists Showcase finalist. Sponsored by a generous grant from Marvin J Pertzik in cooperation with the Mary Livingston Griggs and Mary Griggs Burke Foundation in honor of the JCCA Centennial.
