May is America’s PrepareAthon (sponsored by FEMA) - a grassroots campaign for action to increase community preparedness and resilience.
America’s PrepareAthon is intended to increase the number of individuals who:
- Understand which disasters could happen in their community
- Know what to do to be safe and mitigate damage
- Take action to increase their preparedness
- Participate in community resilience planning
Join us at the JCC for a FREE Disaster Preparedness Workshop
Two sessions: 9:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. This workshop provides valuable information about how to prepare yourself and your family for an unexpected disaster such as a flood, fire or other hazards. Through a fun and interactive workshop including group discussions, drills and exercises, you will learn how to create a family plan and ready your family to face these types of challenges. Devin Kerins, emergency management specialist from FEMA, will guide you through preparing for an unexpected disaster. Open to the community.
