Enter the world of Tony, Grammy and Emmy Award-winning composer and performer, Cy Colemen. Andrew Propst, author of, begins in a Bronx tenement where Yiddish was language and the music was Klezmer. Follow Coleman’s career through the Catskills’ bungalow community his parents owned through jazz and early television to Broadway where he became a preeminent composer. Propst, a journalist and author whose writing has appeared in The Village Voice and Time Out/NY will take us on a miraculous journey. Propst’s book will be available for purchase at the JCC prior to and at the event. Reservations are needed by Wednesday, October 21.
