The Astor Orphan: A Memoir by Alexandra Aldrich

25042-04 Monday, March 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.
John Jacob Astor, whose life spanned the late 1700s and 1800s, was a German-born American business magnate, who was the first prominent member of the Astor family and the first multimillionaire in the U.S. He was a New York City real estate magnate and a famed patron of the arts. Alexandra Aldrich is a direct descendant and lived her early years at Rokeby, the family’s Hudson Valley mansion. Come hear her story of her eccentric, fractured family, her childhood and her ultimate conversion to Orthodox Judaism.
