The JCC offers three separate swim team options:

1. For our accomplished swimmers ages 6 and older, we offer our most competitive swim program, the BARRACUDAS SWIM TEAM. A stroke evaluation for new swimmers is necessary and JCC membership is required.

2. The MINI-BARRACUDAS program is available for younger swimmers ages 5 - 8 interested in competitive swimming. A stroke evaluation is required.

3. The INTRA-CUDAS intramural swim program is for those swimmers ages 8 and older who would like to improve their strokes and fitness but do not desire the level of commitment that the swim team requires. Swimmers must be able to swim at least 50 yards freestyle with rotary breathing. A stroke evaluation is not required.

The Barracudas competitive season begins in early November and runs through the State Championships in March.

Jr. Maccabi Swim Practice

Training practices for 10 - 12 year old swimmers registered for the spring 2012 Junior Maccabi Games. Please contact Gary Schaefer at x281 or gschaefer@jccnj.org for additional details. Swim team members may participate even if not going to the Junior Maccabi Games.


Mini-Barracudas (5 to 8 yrs)
The Mini-Barracudas under the direction of Head Coach Michelle Sion are entering their 7th season at the JCC and would like to invite you to join in the fun! Each class includes 15 minutes of stretching/dry-land and 30 minutes of swim time. Swimmers must be able to swim 1/2 lap front crawl and 1/2 lap backstroke. (If you are not sure if your swimmer meets the requirements, please bring your swimmer in to be tested for the program.) All participants are encouraged to join us at our end-of-season party in March! • Monday and Wednesday: 3:45 - 4:30 P

Intramural Swim Program: Intra-Cudas (8+ yrs)
Join the Intra-Cudas for fitness swimming and stroke improvement. Learn advanced swim team fundamentals such as strokes & turns. Each class includes 15 minutes of stretching/dry-land and 30 minutes of swim time. Swimmers must be able to swim at least 50 yards freestyle with rotary breathing. Great for teens interested in swim training to pass the lifeguarding swim test. Competitive suits, caps and goggles are recommended. Monday and Wednesday: 6:15 - 7:00 P



Swim Team Boot Camp
Open to all swimmers (level 3+)
We will work on cardio, techniques, and endurance drills.
