there’s something about

this school

• One of the things that makes our school so special is the partnership and involvement of our parents. With

over 50 active volunteers on our Early Childhood Parent Committee (ECPC), we were able to plan special

events for the children, assist teachers and host social events for parents and caregivers. Some of our most

popular FY16 ECPC events were Harvest Fest, Family Hanukkah, Thanks-for-Giving Social Action, Moms’ and

Dads’ Nights Out and a Book Market Used Book Sale. We are so grateful for this enthusiastic support which is

a cornerstone of our school.

• Our halls and classrooms were busy with almost 300 students and 58 Early Childhood teachers who engaged

in professional development throughout the year to ensure that we remain current with the lastest in

teaching methods and philosophies. In FY16, as a school, we focused on science exploration including water,

building and the natural world. And each Friday, we took a break and gathered as a community to

celebrate Shabbat.

New to our school in 2015-16!

Sheva Lab Community

In FY16, we were appointed as a Sheva Lab School by the

JCC Association. As part of this prestigious recognition, our

leadership team has joined a nationwide community which

studies together, participates in virtual learning opportunities

and brings their discoveries to all JCCs. We are proud of our

role in helping advance not only our own school’s programs

but those of other JCCs as well.

Shabbat Squad

This new intergenerational program invited a small group of

kindergartners to meet once a week and plan a special

Shabbat experience for our weekly Senior Adult program.

“Shabbat Squad is an uplifting experience, being in the

company of exuberant, joyful children. Seeing them warms

my heart.” – Len Miller, Senior Adult program participant

“It really is such an amazing program! Definitely something

the kids will remember about their days at the JCC!”

– Donna Lerman, kindergarten mom

This year for the first time, our Brody Family Early Learning

Center partnered with the Mandy Reichman Feeding Program

to help feed those in need by collecting and distributing food.

“We are overwhelmed and brought to tears at how much

the JCC is expanding our daughter Mandy’s legacy and

vision. We will be able to feed so many more hungry people

because of your dedication and your very caring families.”

– Meryl Reichman, Mandy’s mother and co-founder of the

Mandy Reichman Feeding Program.
