2008

• Camp Yachad introduces its Leader in Training (LIT) program, a one-of-a-kind

½ camper/ ½ counselor training program for rising 9th graders.

• Camp Yachad enrolls almost 900 campers!

• The new colorful and energetic Camp Yachad logo is here!

2009

• Camp Yachad travel campers board their first plane. First stop: Disney World.

• A tri-challenge upgrade is added to the Adventure Course.

2010

• And away we go as a zip line is added to the Adventure Course!

• Construction of the Kessler Basketball Court on the Camp Yachad campsite

is complete; dedication ceremony is held, and outdoor hoops playing begins!

2011

• Camp Yachad partners with the Union County Vocational Technical School

Academy for Performing Arts to offer a unique Performing Arts Specialty Camp.

• The Adventure Course keeps getting bigger and better! Bouldering wall and

Burma bridge are added.

2013

• In response to the popularity of sports camps, Camp Yachad introduces Maccabi

Sports Camp in partnership with The Wardlaw-Hartridge School.

• More adventure for the Adventure Course: 3D whale watch, spider web and new

nitro crossing are added.

2014

• Campers swing high through our trees as the first high ropes element, the giant

team swing, is added to the Adventure Course!

2015

• Camp Yachad’s youngest campers and campers with special needs enjoy our

brand new zero entry pool.

• Camp Yachad’s Performing Arts Camp, JPAC, begins its next generation.

• Camp Yachad becomes an American Camping Association (ACA) Accredited Camp.

• With 800 campers and 300 staff, our

25th year was rockin’!

• We had more full-day 4s than ever

before and added full-day 2s and 3s.

• Our travel campers went to Stress

Factory, saw

Finding Neverland

on

Broadway and travelled all over

including Niagara Falls, Lake George

and the Hamptons.

• JPAC went to their first Broadway

Show and met the cast of

Wicked

• We launched our new Camp Yachad

Vocational Training Program for

teens with special needs.

June 26, 1991

• Let the spirit of camp begin! Camp Yachad launches its very first day.

1992

• Everyone in the new outdoor pool! Camp Yachad adds outdoor swim to the camp day.

1993

• Camp Yachad introduces travel camp.

1997

• Camp Yachad enrolls 500 campers.

• Convenient door-to-door bus transportation is added to the Camp Yachad experience.

1998

• Israel comes to Camp Yachad. We welcome our first

shlichim

(Israeli counselors).

• The ever-popular sport, gaga, is introduced at Camp Yachad.

2001

• Camp Yachad celebrates its 10th anniversary!

• Camp Yachad loves gaga so much that the first official gaga court is built.

2003

• Counselors are going under! Dunk the Whale, a beloved and fun

Camp Yachad tradition, is introduced.

• Camp Yachad’s first “shadow” inclusion program for campers

with special needs begins with five children.

2004

• The Adventure Course first opens with great features: a whale

watch, a multi-vine, a nitro crossing, a port hole and bosun’s chairs.

2005

• The Shabbatones, the rockin’-est band in camp history, are formed.

• Behold! The newly introduced Golden Cup adds spirit, fun and a little competition to

the campers’ bus rides. At Camp Yachad, camp begins and ends on the bus!

2016 marked the 25th Anniversary of Camp Yachad. It’s

amazing to look back and remember how far we’ve come!
