 Tsofim (Entering grades 4 and 5)
Based at our Springfield site
9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (with the exception of certain trips)
Tsofim, Hebrew for “scouts,” offers a busy week of fun-filled day-trip adventures. Tsofim provides a recreational travel experience with a sampling of entertaining and exciting trips. Campers travel 4 days each week and spend Fridays with other travel campers at the Springfield campsite for special events.
It’s Tsofim – It’s An Adventure:
- Daily travel to beaches, ballparks, water and amusement parks, aquariums and more!
- Overnight and extended trips each session
- A lively Shabbat program at the JCC concludes each week
Staff: Adult Unit Director and Assistant Unit Director supervise staff and campers. Experienced Senior Counselors, trained in travel procedures and safety, work directly
with campers.

Session 1: Baltimore Trip (Baltimore Harbor, Camden Yards, Baltimore Aquarium, Duck Tour) & NJY Camps
Session 2: Philadelphia Trip (Philadelphia Zoo, Franklin Institute, Penn's Landing) & Club Getaway)

Na'arim (Entering grades 5 and 6)
Based at our Springfield site
9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (with the exception of certain trips)
Na’arim, Hebrew for “youth,” embark on adventures near and far through this interactive travel program. Na’arim is the perfect program for adolescent campers interested in a variety of activities. Travel includes trips designed solely for Na’arim. Campers travel 4 days a week and spend Fridays with other travel campers at the Springfield campsite for special events.
It’s Na’arim – It’s Unbelievable:
- Daily travel includes rafting, amusement and water parks, a Broadway show, fishing and more!
- Overnight and extended trips each session
- A lively Shabbat program at the JCC concludes each week
Staff: Adult Unit Director and Assistant Unit Director supervise staff and campers. Experienced Senior Counselors, trained in travel procedures and safety, work directly with campers.

Session 1: Long Island/NYC Trip (Splish Splash Water Park, Madame Tussauds, Top of the Rock, Off-Broadway Show, Discovery Times Square Exhibit) & NJY Camps
Session 2: Northern Virginia Trip (Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center annex of Smithsonian Museum of Air and Space, Great Falls Park, Shenandoah Valley sites) & Club Getaway

Chalutzim Entering grades 7 and 8)
Based at our Springfield site
9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (with the exception of certain trips)
Chalutzim, Hebrew for “pioneers,” experience the ultimate in day trips and extended travel! Campers travel 5 days a week. Whether your interest is sports, theater, roller coasters or sightseeing, you’ll find it all in Chalutzim!
It’s Chalutzim – It’s Incredible:
- Action-packed mix of day and overnight trips, including extended overnight each session
- Incredible day-trip excursions include a NY comedy club, amusement parks, sporting events, Broadway and outdoor adventure trips offering rafting, hiking, rock climbing and spelunking
- Most extended trips include transportation on air-conditioned coach
- buses, dairy and Kosher meals, hotel accommodations and fun-filled
- itineraries packed with touring and interactive experiences
- A lively Shabbat program at the JCC concludes each week
Staff: Adult Unit Director and Assistant Unit Director supervise staff and campers. Experienced Senior Counselors (college-aged and older), who are trained in travel procedures and safety, work directly with campers.

Session 1: Lake Placid Trip (Baseball Hall of Fame, Cooperstown, Fireworks, Olympic Skating and Jumping Centers) & New Orleans Trip (Mardi Gras World, French Quarter, Social Action, Steamboat Jazz Cruise).
Session 2: Toronto (Niagra Falls, CN Tower, Rogers Center Skydome Tour) & Western PA Trip (Whitewater Rafting, Seven Springs Outdoor Adventure Resort, Laurel Caverns).
