L.I.T Program
(Entering grade 9)
Flexible 2, 4 and 8 week options available
What L.I.T. has to offer!
- The LIT program gives valuable hands-on leadership skills needed to be a successful camp counselor
- LIT participants will have the opportunity to work independently and as part of a leadership group on
honing communication skills, developing trust and engaging in creative thinking with professional speakers
- LITs will alternate their weeks in camp between group and specialist internships and travel
- One extended (4 nights, 5 days) overnight trip per 4 week session
- LITs successfully completing at least one 4-week session of the program are accepted to work in camp the following summer as a Counselor in Training (CIT)
L.I.T.s successfully completing at least one session of the program are accepted to work in camp the following summer as a Counselor In Training (C.I.T.)!
L.I.T. Entering grade 9
Workshop sample topics:
- Games and activities to excite campers
- Learning how to work with peers and supervisors
- Leadership styles and approaches
- Time management and organization skills
Travel:
Week 3: Eastern Long Island (Montauk, Cradle of Aviation Center, Fishing Trip, Canoe Outing Week 6: Myrtle Beach Trip (Six Flags Kings Dominion, Beach, Nascar Speedpark, Myrtle Waves Water Park).
