Ellen Geller Drop-In Center
Children enrolled in JCC Preschool or Kindergarten programs are eligible to use the Ellen Geller Drop-In Center after school (see page 31 of the Fall 2007 Program Guide). Children in public kindergarten may enroll in our Kindergarten Kids wrap-around program (please contact the After School Services Director at dwardle@jccnj.org or ext. 254) or Kid Zone after 3:00 p.m. (see below).

After School Classes
The JCC offers a wide variety of athletics, aquatic, and enrichment classes and lessons to keep your children active every day after school. Sign up for soccer, gymnastics, martial arts, basketball, ballet, or even a private swim lesson. Alternatively, your child could take a keyboarding class, learn to draw cartoons, and so much more. Children enrolled in JCC Preschool, Kindergarten, or Kid Zone programs are escorted directly from their classroom to the class. Classes are perfectly timed for after school and open to the community. See your target age group for course listings. JCC Membership or a $100 Community Enrollment Fee is required to participate, unless otherwise noted.

Kindergarten Kids
The JCC offers an afternoon wrap-around program staffed by experienced teachers and assistants for children who attend public school in the morning. Participants bring their own dairy lunch or sign up for Café lunch. The JCC provides drinks and snacks. Activities include: instructional swim, yoga, music, gym, cooking, Judaica, reading and math readiness.

Kindergarten Kids begins at 11:30 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. The Ellen Geller Drop-In Center is also available after 3:00 p.m. for an additional fee.

Kindergarten Kids does not meet on most holidays and on days the Scotch Plains - Fanwood Public schools are closed. A calendar will be provided before the first day of class; if you need another one, please click here or contact the Early Childhood Services office.

Kid Zone for Children in Kindergarten-Grade 8
Mondays – Thursdays, 3:00 – 6:00 p.m., Fridays 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Kid Zone at the JCC provides a safe, structured, and enriching environment for your children during the after school hours. The program is staffed by mature, qualified teachers and assistants. The children are provided with a snack, homework supervision and assistance, and Kid Zone elective activities such as swim, gym, cooking, yoga, computers, Abrakadoodle™ art, and martial arts. JCC Membership or a $100 Community Enrollment Fee is required for enrollment.

A one-month security deposit, applied to your last month used in Kid Zone, is required for registration. The security deposit is refundable up to 30 days after last month used prior to June. A limited number of scholarships are available to those who qualify; contact the After School Services Director at dwardle@jccnj.org or ext. 254 for further details.
