General Information
Our Fitness Center features Star Trac® treadmills, stairsteppers, upright bikes, recumbent bikes, Reebok and EFX elliptical cross- trainers, Cybex ArcTrainer, Concept II rower, Cybex strength machines, power rack, and a free weight area. Come work out on your own or request a personal trainer to help motivate you. Come with a friend and share a trainer or take one of our many classes together. After your workout, enjoy a sauna, whirlpool or massage treatment. Towels are available at the reception desk for a $1.50 rental fee.*

Fitness Evaluations are available at no charge to members every three months. Stop up to measure your body mass index, body measurements and flexibility. Chart improvements over time!

Cancellation Policy: Personal training and massage appointments must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance. For details, contact Karen Rosen at ext. 224.

Dance Parties: Plan a dance party in the aerobics studio for ages five & up. Parties include one hour in the studio and one hour in a private room. Contact Karen Rosen at ext. 224.

Babysitting Fees: Babysitting services are also available at the JCC. To use this childcare option, parents must remain in the building while their children are in the babysitting room. Reservations are not necessary. Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m., and Sunday, 9:00 a.m. -11:30 a.m.

Personal Training
Let our certified fitness professionals design a personalized and motivating program based on your special needs. Train one on one with the aid of the Pilates Reformer: strengthen your abdomen and back and improve your posture. Fitness Evaluations measuring body composition, flexibility, and endurance are available. By appointment only. Gift certificates available.

Massage
Massage can relax both body and mind, relieve muscle tightness, and improve blood circulation while helping to increase range of motion and provide nutrition to stressed muscles. Make appointments at the JCC Reception Desk. Gift Certificates available.

Special Fitness Classes
Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program

Wednesday (6 weeks), 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m., class starts September 19
Research shows that people with arthritis benefit greatly from exercise. If you have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis, you can reap the benefits of improved strength, cardiovascular fitness, and flexibility by joining this class. Included are range-of-motion exercises; weight-bearing, balance, and coordination activities; health education; endurance activities, breathing, and relaxation techniques. Exercises will be done in a chair, with the option of standing as appropriate. Meet new people, bring a friend, but come. All ages are welcome.

Yoga for Special Needs Kids With Karen Rosen

Yoga as a therapeutic approach for your special child not only benefits your child, it also enhances the work of physical, occupational, and speech therapists. Yoga therapy strengthens muscle tone throughout the body and enhances focus and concentration. The inclusion of breathing and relaxation techniques teaches children tools for self-calming, body awareness, and self-confidence. This program is open to children of all ages, from infants through teens. An initial meeting with a parent is required. Karen Rosen has studied with Sonia Sumar, who developed Yoga for the Special Child™ training program.
